Windows updates sometimes become pain especially when you are on a metered connection. It’s not just you who is facing this problem its everyone.
Windows Metered Connection
There is a way to tell Windows that you are on a metered connection and kind of simplifies things a bit. But again it doesn’t stop the whole update process.

But is that all. No, It happened to me that whenever I connect to my friend’s PAN network or some relatives PAN network, PAN network means Personal area network, to generalize it’s your friends or relatives phone wifi hot-spot, As this is a new network and you are in hurry, you forget to set the network as a metered network. Boom….it starts updating, and in a moment it consumes their whole data.
This is just a common problem which we all face in one or other form.
So the big question is there any way to do so… yes. Kill the process permanently.
Steps to stop Windows update
1) Disable your Windows update in ‘Services’,
2) Delay your updates to a later date,
3) Envelop you ‘Delivery Optimization’ settings.
